Online design magazine

This web magazine is part of a large communication project for one of the leader lighting companies of the design world.

Insight Mag is a quality editorial project conceived as an open window into the company. A place to share the insights, anecdotes and backstage of the developing process and the people behind the creation of great products, but also a place for good design conversation. It features video and written interviews with designers and other players of the design community, in-depth information about products and discussion of ideas and a certain way of doing design.

I was responsible for the concept and the design of the website, wonderfully implemented by the talented guys at Qwentes. I’m the proud editorial chief of the magazine, responsible of the ideation and production of the content, which is then spread in the several social media channels of the company.

Online portfolio of a design and architecture studio

The main challenge of this project was reflecting the design philosophy of the owner, italian architect and designer Paolo Rizzatto.

Designing is for Rizzatto, composing, putting together concepts, ideas, aspirations and knowledge from different fields and times. His products are highly balanced, and have a subtle formal link to the past and exceptional attention to technology.

I decided that the website should reflect his very own personality, and went for an editorial style. I wanted the site to be like a book about his work; clean and sharp navigation, a strong yet flexible grid based layout and not a single graphical element except for his own work.

The site was designed to be implemented using the WordPress platform.

Design of a website

Tubetrove is a website that fetches a collection of selected content in different areas, it hosts the best feeds from top websites in a wide variety of fields. I was asked to design the site and I came out with a grid structure enhanced by the use of a series of colours and their shades. The result is pretty immediate and refreshing.

Graphic update for a portfolio website.

After 6 years online, product designer Francisco Gomez Paz asked me to re-design his one-page portfolio website. I changed the look and feel of it, increased the size of images and the amount of information displayed. The new website was also designed to work using WordPress.

Design of site for web based magazine

Spotd.it is a web-based design magazine with a remarkable editorial cut and a unique approach to the world of furniture design: exposing the substance of product design through the extreme attention to details, featuring exclusive photographs and opinionated articles.

The design of the website has a vertical two column blog-like structure, with a further editorial twist.
Images are willingly big, the beating heart of the site. The latest article is featured on top of the page, and the previous week articles are arranged below it in a two-column layout. A bottom carrousel of images allows easy and fast navigation of past articles.

The light and subtle shade of greys enhance the importance of photographs and contents, a splash of green is used only for important navigation elements.

Design of website for a product designer

I was asked to re-design the client’s online portfolio that was both aesthetically and technologically outdated. I designed the new site based in a rather simple grid structure and an engaging horizontal navigation scheme.

We completely updated the site from the coding point of view, creating both and admin section for the client to easily access and modify the database and a reserved section for press from where is possible to download high resolution images and press releases.

Design of website for product designer

I designed this site upon a very precise request: creating a one page portfolio to display the work of product designer Francisco Gomez Paz.

I created a very simple interface with expandable sections and sub-sections, tabs open up on mouse click displaying their content and close when clicked again. Playing with the colours of the tabs and the different categories creates a rather refreshing and pleasant experience.

The website hosts a reserved area for press from which is possible to download high resolution images and documentation of each product.
